Yoga
The yoga I teach comes directly from my experience as a practitioner and teacher over the past almost 30 years. I'm an extremely curious person and a massive nature lover. I've studied Rajanaka tantra and the history of yoga with Dr. Douglas Renfrew Brooks and read a bit of David Gordon White, amongst other scholars on the subject, for the unabridged unfiltered information on the subject of yoga.
My asana practice started with studying ashtanga, graduating my first teacher training with Raji Thron's yoga synthesis training. I then transitioned into the anusara system with John Friend. Through my study, practice, and observations, I've developed a system of yoga that embraces all levels of practitioners from the most advanced to new practitioners. I can help you achieve whatever your goals are for your yoga practice.
The asana (poses) part of class is full of musculoskeletal anatomy, (which I learned during my Anatomy Trains training) and weaving a bit of nature, philosophy, allegory, and myth into class. We don't stretch, we practice low intensity body weight exercises and high intensity body weight exercises, depending on your ability. We move through a full spectrum of asanas--standing poses, seated poses, arm balances, forward bending, back bending and twisting.
